Cradock Elementary School is one of just 71 schools in the country selected to participate in the Disney Musicals in Schools program, which offers schools free performance rights and materials to produce a Disney musical with students.
The program has been in place for 16 years, and schools had to complete an application in order to be considered. As a Disney Musical in School, staff now has access to a free online course on musical production and the school can utilize a host of online resources (such as demonstration videos, live webinars and support from Disney artists) to help their preparation for the musical.
Cradock has selected they will be performing The Lion King, and work is already underway for their spring production.
