SEAC - Special Education Advisory Committee

The Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) meetings are open to the public. SEAC meetings are held at SH Clarke Academy Room 2 (2801 Turnpike Road, Portsmouth) at 5:30 p.m. on the following dates:

  • October 17, 2023
  • February 13, 2024
  • March 12, 2024
  • June  11, 2024

Parents of students with disabilities are highly encouraged to participate!

“Virginia school divisions are required to have a special education advisory committee. The purpose of the committee is to provide an opportunity for parents and other school board appointees to have a voice in the way that school divisions provide services to students with disabilities. Local SEAC members are appointed by local school boards. The committees provide reports and recommendations to their school boards.” - VDOE Website
