Welcome Back Admirals! We are looking forward to meeting you!

On behalf of our entire staff, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new and returning
Admirals! It is with great enthusiasm and joy that we are planning an AWESOME Admiral
journey for our staff, students, and school community. Much consideration, hard work, and
preparation have taken place to ensure a smooth transition and opening on our path to a
successful school year.

Let me begin by introducing myself. My name is Dr. Damon E. Cary, proud principal of
Cradock Middle School! I’m looking forward to meeting new faces and hearing about your
summer adventures. Having been dedicated to education for over twenty years, I am eager to
utilize my skills as an instructional leader, teacher, manager, director, and administrator as we
begin a new era here at CMS.

Mr. Craig Harris is our 8th grade assistant principal. He has over twenty years of experience in
education, with sixteen of those as a middle and high school administrator. He joined the
Portsmouth Public Schools family last school year as a teacher at John Tyler Elementary School and looks forward to exploring wonderful and exciting possibilities for our CMS Admiral
Family.

With over twenty-five years in education, Mrs. Terrica Newby, is delighted to be our 7th grade
assistant principal at Cradock Middle School. Having served in several different educational
capacities during her twelve years with Portsmouth Public Schools, she comes to the CMS
Admiral Family from her most recent role as assistant principal at Brighton Elementary School.
Mrs. Newby looks forward to helping provide enriching educational experiences at Cradock
Middle School this school year.

Grounded in the belief that education should always be student-centered and that every child
wants to learn, we look forward to getting to know our CMS family and our community.

Educationally,

The Cradock Administrative Team
